what are my options for sending my son to a better school?
My son starts k5 this august, but i dont want him to attend the school he “suppose to” i want him to attend another school that is the same distance away but is a better school as i’ve been told by several friends and family members. What can i do if anything to have him enrolled in the better school? In order to enroll him period i have to have all kinds of proof of residency. I live in Berkeley County which is in SC.
You have three choices here, two of which are legal.
You can move to the area of the better school, or you can apply to have your son transferred on the grounds that the school offer service the other school does not – and your son requires these services.
Your illegal choice would be to use a fake address within the boundaries of the better school. Your son would have to memorize and always use the fake address, he could not have friends over, and you would have to be prepared for the school to find out and expel him.

I don’t know about your area. Around here you can apply for something called an inter-district transfer. You may need to say the desired school is on the way to work and therefore more convenient or something.
